Investigators of the National Police have exposed a criminal group in the fraudulent seizure of real estate
The group consisted of four people, including lawyers. According to the previous conspiracy, the defendants illegally appropriated an electrical substation and land plots of almost 30 hectares.
Investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine, under the operational support of the Cyber Crime Prevention Unit in the Kiev region of the Cyber Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, uncovered a criminal scheme of illegal possession of real estate.
The police found that four members of the criminal group, including lawyers, were involved in the fraudulent scheme. The defendants, through the conclusion of fictitious contracts for mortgages and loans, seized the land plots of an individual in the Kiev region. The total land area is almost 30 hectares.
In addition, members of the criminal group in collusion with the state registrar, using forged documents, seized the electrical substation that belonged to the victim.
Currently, authorized searches continue in the office premises of the defendants.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out under Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For illegal transactions, the defendants face up to 12 years in prison.
