Investigators of the National Police exposed the exchange center: the defendants “laundered” funds in particularly large sizes

The investigators of the Corruption Crimes Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine and the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General exposed the illegal activities of a group of persons who created a conversion center and covered up the illegal activities of several business entities.
The attackers attracted fictitious enterprises to the transactions, through which they forged primary financial and economic documents on fictitious transactions for the purchase or sale of goods, primarily for the sale of fuel. In the future, the defendants transferred non-cash funds into cash in the interests of business entities without actually carrying out transactions.
In addition, merchants formed false amounts of tax credit from value added tax, and accordingly provided false information in tax documentation.
The illegal activities of the defendants caused damage to the state on a particularly large scale.
Investigators of the National Police conducted a number of sanctioned searches at the place of residence of the intruders and in the office premises. As a result, the documentation confirming the illegal activity was removed. Also, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment with information of evidential value.
Currently, the pre-trial proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 366 (Service forgery), part 2 of Art. 364 (Abuse of power or official position) and part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Violators face up to 12 years of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and confiscation of property.
Law enforcement officers carry out further procedural actions to establish all the circumstances of the offense and bring all defendants to justice.
