Investigators of the National Police exposed the ex-director of the construction company in the appropriation of investor funds
The attacker seized the money of depositors in the amount of almost two million hryvnias. The funds were intended for the construction of a multi-storey building in the center of the capital, but the residential complex has not been built for eight years.
Investigators of the Corruption Crime Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department, with the prompt support of employees of the Department for the Protection of Public and State Interests of the National Police and the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have exposed the former director of the construction and investment company, which is a limited liability company. Law enforcers established that the official in 2012-2013 seized the funds of citizen-investors. The victims paid money that was supposed to go to the construction of an apartment building in the center of Kiev. The defendant assured apartment buyers of the reliability and timely commissioning of the house, but the company never started construction.
Money that was transferred by citizens directly to the head of the company under investment agreements concluded with him was not profitable in the treasury of the company. Thus, the defendant, abusing his powers, appropriated almost two million hryvnias from investors.
During the authorized searches of the defendant's residence, the police discovered and seized ammunition for combat rifled firearms and computer equipment with information indicating illegal activity.
The offender is notified of the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud), Part 2 of Art. 364-1 (Abuse of powers by an official of a legal entity of private law, regardless of the organizational and legal form) and part 1 of Art. 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
At present, the question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being decided. Investigative actions continue.
