Investigators of the National Police sent to the court an indictment against a criminal organization of human traffickers
The Ukrainian segment of the criminal organization included seven men who recruited Ukrainians to work for the transportation of illegal migrants from the countries of Southwest Asia to Europe. Attackers face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Recall: in November last year, agents of the Department of Migration Police together with police investigators in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, under the procedural guidance of the Crimean Prosecutor's Office, exposed the participants of a transnational organized group engaged in human trafficking.
The police established that the criminal group was created by the 33-year-old organizer, and his accomplices were six more people. At the same time, they all fulfilled their role — they recruited people who had a difficult financial situation, taught how to operate ships, provided mobile communications and moved them to the Republic of Turkey. There they were passed on to local associates. The police found that for one sold Ukrainian, human traffickers received up to three thousand US dollars.
Recruits were involved in criminal activities related to migrant smuggling. The victims were supposed to illegally move migrants from countries in the Middle East and Southwest Asia to Eurosyuz. At the same time, the attackers concealed the fact of the existence of severe criminal liability for the transportation of illegal migrants in the countries where they were transported.
An indictment against members of an organized criminal organization is sent to court. In accordance with Part 3 of Article 149 (Trafficking in Persons), Part 2 of Article 332 (Organization of Illegal Transfer of Persons across the State Border of Ukraine) and Part 1 of Article 255 (Creation of a Criminal Organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, defendants face up to 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.
