Investigators of the National Police sent to the court an indictment against a group of persons who demanded bribes from enterprises for not conducting inspections
The criminal group included an official of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and his relative. In the absence of surveys, the attackers guaranteed enterprises the preservation of the accreditation of the subject of state registration.
The police found that in 2018, the head of the Department of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine established a criminal “scheme” of systematic extortion and receipt of illegal benefits from enterprises providing services in the field of state registration of property rights to real estate and their encumbrances. To the “work” he attracted his relative, who acted as an intermediary.
The attackers offered the heads of enterprises not to carry out checks, and therefore not to cancel the accreditation of the subject of state registration. For their “services” they demanded half of the profit received by the enterprise every month.
At present, the investigators of the General Prosecutor's Office of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 5 of Art. 27 (Types of accomplices), part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The indictment against the criminal group is sent to court. Violators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
