Investigators of the National Police sent to the court an indictment against a group of persons who stole 23 million hryvnias from a businessman
With this money, the attackers purchased apartments and land, including abroad, as well as premium cars. The funds that the defendants did not have time to spend were seized and transferred to the victim.
Two men, aged 30 and 49, broke into the apartment of a businessman and stole 23 million hryvnias. With these funds, the attackers purchased five apartments and two plots of land, including abroad. In addition, those involved renewed their own fleet with expensive cars.
During the authorized searches, the police seized part of the funds that the attackers did not have time to spend, and returned them to the victim.
At present, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 5 of Art. 185 (Theft) and Part 2 of Art. 209 (Legalization (laundering) of income received by criminal means) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment is sent to court.
Violators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
