Investigators of the National Police reported on suspicion of members of the criminal group in fraudulent possession of copper ore for 3 million hryvnias
Under the pretext of providing services for international transportation of cargo from the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, the attackers seized 22 tons of copper ore. They now face up to 12 years in prison.
Police determined that the criminal group had been operating since 2019. It was organized by a 44-year-old resident of Transcarpathia. He attracted accomplices to the criminal activity - two more residents of Transcarpathia, 38 and 48 years old. All three have not been previously convicted.
Acting on behalf of an existing limited liability company, under the pretext of providing services for the international transportation of goods from the Republic of Lithuania to the territory of Ukraine, the attackers fraudulently seized 22 tons of copper ore belonging to a foreign company. This caused property damage of more than three million hryvnias.
Investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine together with the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine were exposed and documented their criminal activities under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
On the basis of the decisions of the Pechersk district court of the city. In Kyiv, in the territory of the Transcarpathian region, law enforcement officers conducted 6 authorized searches of the places of residence of persons involved in the crime and vehicles in their use.
Today, April 28, three persons were notified of suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud committed on a particularly large scale or by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 5 to 12 years with confiscation of property.
Now the issue of choosing a preventive measure for suspects in the form of detention is being resolved.
