Investigators of the National Police reported on suspicion of an employee of a separate unit of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” in appropriating 750 thousand hryvnias of state funds
The money was allocated for the repair and arrangement of the waiting area for passengers at the suburban railway station “Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky”. The defendant faces up to 12 years in prison.
The police established that an official of one of the structural units of the South-Western Railway JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, in order to seize state funds, drew up relevant documents on the execution of construction works in the suburban railway station of Art. “Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky” with a company with signs of fictitiousness. These documents became the basis for transferring UAH 750 thousand to the account of a fictitious company by a separate division of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”. In addition, the defendant knew that the company would not carry out repairs in the waiting areas for passengers.
The investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine, with the prompt support of the employees of the Department for the Protection of Public Interest and the State of the National Police, reported the suspicion of the official in committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being resolved. For illegal transactions, the attacker faces up to 12 years in prison.
Police officers conduct activities aimed at documenting the criminal activities of all defendants.
Procedural leadership is carried out by prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General.
Recall: In February of this year, employees of the National Police exposed the illegal activities of employees of one of the structural units of the South-Western Railway JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” in appropriating state funds allocated for the repair and arrangement of the waiting area for passengers at the suburban railway station. May 27 investigators of the National Police reported suspicions to the heads of fictitious firms, to whose account 4.5 million hryvnias of state funds from the regional branch of “South-Western Railway” JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” were received.
