Investigators of the National Police reported on suspicion of organized group in fraudulent possession of apartments of deceased persons
By forging documents, the attackers appropriated three apartments of lonely dead Kiev residents.
Investigators of the Directorate of Investigation of Corruption Crimes of the Main Investigation Department together with the operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police stopped the criminal activities of the organized group, which fraudulently took over the housing of lonely dead Kiev residents.
During the pre-trial investigation, the police determined that the group included six people. To take possession of the housing, members of the organized group forged a series of documents and contracts for the sale of apartments of deceased persons. Then the fictitious documentation was provided to the notary for registration. Registration of assigned apartments was carried out for members of the group.
Currently, the pre-trial investigation has documented three facts of possession of real estate located in Kyiv. On December
29 of this year, investigators of the Main Investigative Department and operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police conducted sanctioned searches in the territory of Lviv region and the city. Kiev. As a result, at the place of residence of the defendants, law enforcement officers seized documents, mobile phones and electronic media of evidential value.
Investigators reported the suspicion of two organizers of the group in committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for suspects in the form of detention is being resolved. They face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Investigators of the Main Investigative Department and operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police carry out further procedural and operational search measures to identify all persons accused of illegal activities.
