Seven years of extraction. “Azov” celebrates the anniversary of its creation
On May 5, a separate special purpose detachment “Azov” of military unit 3057 celebrates the day of the unit's founding.
In early May 2014, the “black men” came to Berdyansk, where later the base was located. These were true patriots of Ukraine who gathered here from all corners of the country and rallied to fight back against the invaders who encroached on Ukrainian sovereignty. The newly formed volunteer unit was formed by indifferent men who sought to protect their country from the pro-Russian invasion.
Behind the back of the personnel there are many heroic deeds, feats and victories. Azovites withstood, hardened themselves in fierce battles and heroically liberated Mariupol, Maryinka, Shirokyne, Pavlopil, Lebedinske and a number of other settlements of Donbas from enemy forces. Together with colleagues from the Armed Forces, they defended Ukrainian lands in the area of the Svitlodarskaya arc, where dozens of units of Russian military equipment, militants were successfully destroyed, and numerous objects of strategic importance in our territory were successfully destroyed from the occupier.
Today, Azov is one of the most capable units of the Ukrainian army, whose fighters possess professional skills at the highest level, have the latest weapons and equipment and the same thirst for victory as seven years ago.
