Serhiy Yarovyi: All units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are ready to provide security on May 2 in Odessa

This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on April 30, during a coordination meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies of the Odessa region.

According to Sergey Yarov, units of the National Police, the National Guard, the border service, as well as the emergency services will be involved in ensuring security. In total, it is planned to attract more than 2500 law enforcement officers who are ready to respond promptly to emergencies.

“Powerful preventive work has been carried out, objectives have been defined to ensure public safety - we are ready for any challenges that may arise during the mass events on May 2. The departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and interacting bodies are ready to respond promptly to any situation in the state,” the Deputy Minister stressed.

He also called on the residents of the region to comply with the requirements of current legislation and quarantine restrictions and prohibitions.

“Particular attention should be focused on coordination of interaction between all units and organization of joint work of operational headquarters and communication groups,” Serhiy Yarovyi noted.

The head of the GUNP in the Odessa region Oleg Bekh reported that the police of the Odessa region are ready to ensure that the May events take place peacefully and calmly.

“Law enforcement officers started preparing for the May events with preventive work in Odessa and the region, the purpose of which is to prevent destabilization of the situation in the region and prevent illegal actions and provocations,” he noted.

Recall that on Easter holidays, more than 20 thousand police officers, 1.3 thousand guards, 4.7 thousand rescuers and 900 cadets will be involved in ensuring public order and security.
