Serhiy Deineko: We will continue to build up the border protection system with Belarus
This was noted by the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine during a working trip to the border with the Republic of Belarus.
He checked how measures have already been implemented to strengthen this section and identified further tasks for the construction of the border protection system.
From the board of the patrol helicopter H125, Sergey Deineko carried out aerial surveillance of the border along the Zhytomyr border detachment. In addition, he checked how the “green” section of the state border is protected and work is being carried out on marking the border on the ground.
“We need to continue to build up the system of protecting the state border with Belarus. This applies to the entire site, including the boundaries of the exclusion zone. And although today, the situation on the border with the Republic of Belarus is stable, and the border protection is carried out intensively, we are further strengthening our technical and engineering capabilities. We have to ensure the national security of Ukraine from all possible threats,” Serhiy Deyneko said in communication with the leadership of the detachment and border units.
He added that the State Border Guard takes into account all information that may affect border protection and uses all the necessary resources as much as possible.
During the work, the Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine also checked the use by border guards in border protection of unmanned aviation complexes and patrol boats on the river section. In addition, he inspected the state of border protection within the exclusion zone on the site of the Ivankov department.
The procedure for interaction between the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv border detachments and with other law enforcement agencies was discussed in detail. The border guards paid special attention to the strengthening of sections of the border with Belarus with rapid response units, including the 10th Separate Operational Response Detachment “DOZOR”.
During the trip at the checkpoint “Vilcha”, the Head of the State Border Guard Service also checked how transit operations are taking place in today's conditions, in view of the decrease in passenger flow due to quarantine restrictions. We will note that this is one of the seven checkpoints that currently operate on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
