Serhiy Deineko: The State Border Guard Service has already produced almost 2000 bays of barbed wire at its own facilities
The Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine noted this in Cherkasy region, where he visited the workshop for the production of wire barriers, which is deployed in the Main Center for the Training of Personnel of the Department.
“To date, three lines have been installed in expanded production, which make it possible to produce Egoza type wire barriers and slave netting. The necessary staff of the security group has also been created, which works in shifts,” Serhiy Deyneko said.
He stressed that border guards need to properly equip the border, taking into account the current challenges and threats, as well as the peculiarities of the sites.
“Among all the elements of engineering equipment there is always a barrier made of barbed wire. The general need of the State Border Guard Service for such barriers is quite large, so we began to produce them ourselves,” he added.
Serhiy Deineko personally checked how the works are carried out and got acquainted with the conditions in which the production facilities are equipped.
The head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine noted that since the beginning of the launch of the lines, the border guards have already independently manufactured almost 2000 bays of barbed wire, which are intended for installation on the border with the Republic of Belarus.
“This work is extremely relevant. Considering the need for quick and efficient arrangement of the border, these barriers are one of the elements of organizing tasks according to the departmental plan of engineering arrangement. Today, they are already used in areas that require priority arrangement,” said the head of the border department.
To ensure the uninterrupted production of Egoza, almost 300 tons of raw materials were purchased at the expense of the reserve fund of the State Budget, and more than 200 tons of raw materials the border guards received from a number of organizations.
We will note that due to possible migration flows from Belarus, Ukraine has significantly intensified the arrangement of the northern section of the border. Since November, dozens of kilometers of barriers have been installed. There are 30 established engineering teams of border guards constantly working. In addition, almost 1500 bays of Egoza spiral barbed cutting tape were also received from local governments, public representatives, charitable organizations for border arrangement.
