The first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also confirmed that the investigation found the presence of methadone in the blood of the people's deputy.
“How methadone got into the body of a people's deputy - the investigation finds out. I want to emphasize that during the examination of the body of the already deceased MP at that time, among his personal belongings, cash was found in the amount of about 10 thousand hryvnias and 800 US dollars, as well as two samples of catheters with a brown substance. What kind of substance this is, we are also investigating,” Yevgeny Yenin said.
The Deputy Minister stressed that a large number of investigative and operational actions have already been carried out in the case. He also thanked the patrol police officers who showed vigilance, responding immediately to the violation of the Rules of the Road by a taxi driver in which the MP was staying.
“The video shows how police officers, clearly complying with the regulatory requirements for them, stop a specific car, work with body cameras on, so that no one has any doubts afterwards. All these materials are further included in the materials of criminal proceedings. We see how the police carry out the first resuscitation measures. Later, an ambulance joined them. We see a defibrillator,” he said.
Yevgeny Yenin also noted that additional witnesses were questioned in the case. It also turns out how methadone got into the body of Anton Polyakov. In addition, the First Deputy Minister added that methadone itself does not pose a mortal danger.
