Theft of fuel worth UAH 1.8 million — serviceman was informed of suspicion
The man was part of a group whose participants organized the export of oil products from a military unit stationed in Kyiv region and sold them at gas stations.
As established by the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Kiev region of the National Police, the group consisted of five people - military and civilian. The attackers removed part of the oil products from the territory, namely diesel fuel and gasoline, and sold it through gas stations of Vasylkivsk and Belotserkovsky districts. During the period of their criminal activity, they managed to remove from the military unit more than 60 tons of fuel for 1.8 million hryvnias.
On May 15 last year, the organizer of the group and three of his accomplices were detained and informed of the suspicions. During the investigation, evidence of the involvement of another member of the group in the commission of a crime was collected.
On April 27, 2021, on the basis of the evidence received, the colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, investigators of the SBI Tertiary Department, located in the city. Kyiv was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 3 of Art. 410 (abduction, appropriation, military property, as well as possession of them by abuse of official position committed as part of an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 12 years.
Procedural leadership in criminal proceedings is carried out by a specialized prosecutor's office in the military and defense sphere of the Central Region.
