Robbery attacks, extortion and threats of murder - Precarpathian police reported suspicion of organized criminal group
Police of Ivano-Frankivsk region have exposed members of a criminal group that committed robbery attacks on citizens. The perpetrators engaged in extortion and used intimidation or physical violence against their victims. The defendants were informed of the suspicion, and the court chose preventive measures for them.
Investigators of the regional police department (detectives), together with the staff of the USBU in Ivano-Frankivsk region, managed to neutralize the criminal activity, under the procedural leadership of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
During the investigation, it was established that the criminal group included four Precarpathians. The attackers sought out victims, took their money and demanded a “tribute”. The suspects intimidated the victims, threatened them with violence and physical abuse.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, a number of extortions, threats of murder and robbery were documented, during which the attackers tried to seize money and were detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigators reported the suspicion to the defendants under Part 2 of Art. 129, Part 4 of Art. 187, Part 4 of Art. 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose for him preventive measures in the form of detention.
