Year of operation of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in figures
The Day of the Border Guard of Ukraine, which is celebrated every year on April 30, has become a kind of reference point for the guards of the state border. Border guards effectively counteract negative phenomena at the state border, one of which is illegal migration. Today we summarize the indicators of service activity.
According to the results of a year of work, border guards detected more than 4,600 illegal migrants. More than 1,000 illegals have been arrested for illegally crossing the state border, mostly with EU countries. If we pay attention to the countries of origin of migrants, these are mostly Algeria, Iran, Turkey, Moldova, Russia, India, Morocco, Syria and Uzbekistan.
In addition, border guards found more than 3500 violators of the rules of stay in Ukraine. Most of these violators are from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Tajikistan, Turkey and India.
But, perhaps, the most important for state border guards is the figure of 5,300 people, because it was precisely the number of foreigners — potential illegal migrants, that the employees of the State Border Service of Ukraine refused to enter Ukraine during border control. The vast majority of such decisions are made at air checkpoints and at the border with the Russian Federation.
