“The National Security Council has worked out various scenarios of action, even those that involve the introduction of a state of emergency in certain regions in case of aggravation of the situation on the border with Belarus,” Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky said at a briefing following the results of the National Security Council meeting in Lutsk.
As mentioned earlier, today, November 14, a meeting of the National Security Council of Ukraine took place in the city of Lutsk on additional measures to ensure national interests in the field of state border protection. The meeting was attended by, in particular, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky, acting head of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kruk, the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko, the head of the State Security Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deineko and the commander of the National Guard Mykola Balan.
Denis Monastyrsky also said that in case of the need for a “quick response to the mass presence of migrants”, temporary structures will be erected on the corresponding sections of the border.
Currently, appropriate preparatory work is being carried out, places of deployment of personnel have been determined to strengthen the State Border Service, National Guard, National Police, established interaction with other units of territorial defense, public formations for the protection of public order.
At the same time, he added that they do not plan to involve troops from the east and south of the country to guard the border with Belarus.
