They appropriated UAH 750 thousand for the repair of the waiting room of the railway station — the investigators of the National Police reported the suspicion to another employee of the unit of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”
The defendants face up to 12 years in prison.
Today, July 20, investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with the prompt support of the employees of the Department for the Protection of Public Interest and the State of the National Police reported the suspicion of an official of one of the structural units of the South-Western Railway JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” in committing a criminal offense, foreseeing of Part 5 of Art. 191 (Appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Also, according to this article, in May of this year, investigators reported a suspicion of an accomplice of the defendant.
The police established that officials of one of the structural units of the South-Western Railway JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, in order to seize state funds, drew up relevant documents on the execution of construction works in the suburban railway station of Art. “Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky” with a company with signs of fictitiousness. These documents became the basis for the transfer of funds by a separate division of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” to the account of a fictitious company in the amount of UAH 750 thousand. In addition, the employees knew for sure that repairs in the waiting areas for passengers by this company would not be carried out.
Currently, the question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention is being resolved. For illegal transactions, the attacker faces up to 12 years in prison.
Police officers carry out further procedural measures aimed at documenting the criminal activities of all defendants.
