Border guards exposed a scheme to import and distribute counterfeit fuel
Employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor, together with the SFS and the SBU, exposed a scheme related to the illegal production and sale of counterfeit fuel.
It was made from raw materials that entered Ukraine in violation of the current legislation from Belarus and the Russian Federation. In particular, false information was entered into the shipping documents.
Manufactured counterfeit fuel was supplied to gas stations and other places of sale.
Information about the production of fuel from components imported according to the “gray schemes” was consulted by employees of the operational-search units of the State Border Service of Ukraine. On the basis of the materials received, the prosecutor's office opened criminal proceedings.
Within the framework of investigative and operational measures with the involvement of the border special unit “DOZOR” in the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, law enforcement officers conducted a number of sanctioned searches. The places of storage, manufacture and distribution of counterfeit goods were checked.
During the searches, samples of counterfeit fuel, chemical additives, documents of financial and economic activity were found, which can be used as evidence in court proceedings.
Investigative actions continue and the amount of damage caused to the state is established.
