Before the Christmas and New Year holidays, it is expected to increase the flow of passengers and transport at the state border. The largest increase in the number of travelers is predicted at international airports and checkpoints on the border with the EU countries
.

Since the beginning of December, border guards have been recording a gradual increase in passenger traffic. For example, last weekend, compared to the previous ones, passenger traffic increased by more than 16 percent. So, last Saturday-Sunday, almost 263 thousand people crossed the state border of Ukraine, while on the previous weekend less than 220 thousand travelers crossed the state border of Ukraine.

Note that the State Border Guard Service is ready to ensure the rhythmic passage of citizens who will cross the border on holidays and pre-holidays. In order to reduce the time of passage of control procedures, in case of a possible increase in passenger-transport flow, additional border units for checking passport documents and inspection of vehicles will work intensively, including the use of mobile border control complexes with additional workplaces.

At the same time, in order to avoid crowding of people and transport in front of the checkpoints, we ask travelers to plan their trips in advance and not postpone them for the last pre-holiday days.

Please note that when crossing the border, in addition to checking documents, border guards carry out control measures related to preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. We ask citizens to familiarize themselves in advance with the rules for crossing the state border of Ukraine (demarcation lines, administrative boundaries with the TOT of Ukraine) during quarantine at the link: https://dpsu.gov.ua/ua/Peretinannya-derzhavnogo-kordonuadminmezhilinii-zitknennya-v-umovah-karantinu/.

Please note that violation of quarantine restrictions may also cause delays in transit operations and cause inconvenience to other participants in international traffic. It should be noted that with the help of SafeBorder software, border guards checked more than 1.3 million COVID certificates and found more than 1,140 counterfeit ones.

Information about the load of checkpoints can be tracked on the official website of the State Border Guard Service https://dpsu.gov.ua/ua/map/ and, in particular, on the western section - on the Facebook page of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Service.
