The President of Ukraine awarded honorary names to the military units of the National Guard and the State Border Guard
Today, during the solemn events on the occasion of the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, which took place on the island of Khortytsia, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented battle flags and awarded honorary names to the military units of the NGU and the State DPSU.
The Supreme Commander handed the commanders parts of the ribbon with the names of honorary titles.
The 11th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name “named after Mikhail Hrushevsky”.
The 25th Brigade of the Protection of Public Order of the National Guard of Ukraine was awarded the honorific name “in the name of Prince Ascold”.
The 2nd Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine received the honorary name “Shostkinsky”.
The 19th regiment of the protection of public order of the National Guard of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name “Nikolayevsky”.
4th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (m. Kharkiv) honorary name of “the name of the Choronian General Vladimir Sikevich”.
“For many centuries of history, Khortitsa has been a kind of outpost in the struggle against various enemies. It was here that the invincible spirit of the Cossacks was born and forged, which in our time helps us fight the enemy. The elite of the national Ukrainian army is being educated on the traditions and values of the Ukrainian Cossacks today,” the President noted.
