A representative of the national staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joins the UN Mission in Kosovo
In December 2021, the Department of Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with the request of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the Secretariat of the United Nations, secured the additional referral to the UN Mission in Kosovo of the representative of the national staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Lieutenant Colonel Borysenko Dmitry Alexandrovich, Senior Inspector from special assignments of the Department of International Investigation of Persons of the Department of Interpol and Europol of the Department of International Police Cooperation of the National Police of Ukraine.
Prior to his assignment to the Mission, the employee underwent mandatory pre-mission training, on the subject of classes approved by the UN Secretariat, in particular on international law, human rights, protection of the civilian population, gender equality and prevention of sexual violence, as well as driving, personal safety and medicine.
Upon arrival at the Mission and after undergoing quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the employee took up his duties as “Interpol Liaison Officer of the UN Mission in Kosovo”.
In his functional responsibilities, he is responsible for the operation of the Interpol electronic system of the UN Mission in Kosovo, including the publication of Interpol “red” cards for crimes of a transnational nature; maintaining communication with the National Interpol Bureaux of other countries and with the Kosovo Directorate for International Cooperation; handling requests received from other countries Central Bank and Kosovo Police; checking persons, passports, weapons, vehicles using the relevant Interpol databases; preparing weekly reports, etc.
Currently, 1 representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is serving in the UN Mission in Kosovo.
In total, to date, the Department of Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided service in peacekeeping operations and peace and security organizations 28 representatives of the national staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (1 woman), of which 19 NPU police officers and 9 NGU servicemen (UN Mission in Abiei, Democratic Republic of Moldova) Congo, Kosovo, Cyprus, Republic of South Sudan; OSCE Mission in Skopje; Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the UN Secretariat).
