Law enforcers exposed large-scale scheme of theft of forest in Sumy region
Police officers of Sumy region exposed a criminal scheme of theft of wood from forestry by officials of SE “Glukhivskyi Agrolisgosp”.
Law enforcement officers became aware that officials of SE “Glukhiv Agrolishosp”, under the guise of internal transportation of the enterprise, transported forest products “business oak” to a private sawmill, which is located in the village of Shalyhyne, Glukhiv district. The check established the existence of grounds to consider the origin of this wood illegal due to its destruction.
According to preliminary estimates, illegal deforestation caused damage to the state in the amount of UAH 500,000.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 246 “Illegal chopping or illegal transportation, storage, sale of forest” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Priority investigative actions are being carried out.
