Air Intelligence Detects 6 Turkish Citizens Who Tried to Illegally Cross Ukrainian Border
Six illegal migrants from Turkey were detained last night in Transcarpathia by the Mukachevo detachment as part of the operation “Carpathians - 2021”.
Soldiers of the Luzhanka department received information about a possible illegal border crossing. Specialists of the air intelligence department and an inspector with a search dog were also involved in the search for intruders. Around 23 o'clock, the soldiers saw a taxi stop on the outskirts of the village of Asti, from which unknown persons left and headed towards the state border. Noticing the approaching law enforcement officers, the strangers ran into a sunflower field, where they tried to escape and hide. Using a drone, border guards found and detained six men who had passports of Turkish citizens with them.
Border guards found out that foreigners arrived in Ukraine in early August legally. At present, all the circumstances of illegal travel of foreigners, as well as persons who may be involved for its organization, are established.
The offenders were taken to the point of temporary detention of the Mukachevo border detachment. For an attempt to violate the border on foreigners, administrative protocols were drawn up, the case was sent to the court, which will determine the measure of responsibility of foreigners.
