Officials of Kharkiv City Council and Zaporizhzhya Regional Department of the State Labor Service were accused of bribery
Both claimed ill-gotten benefits from citizens for services within their official competencies. Police detained them “hot” in office offices after receiving the last agreed amounts of bribes.
In Kharkiv region, the head of one of the departments of the Zmiev City Council demanded and received UAH 35,000 for preference during the conclusion of the storage agreement. The official was exposed by the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Kharkiv region together with the investigators of the regional police department under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The second official was exposed in the Zaporizhzhya Regional Department of State Labor. There, the head of one of the structural units demanded and received UAH 25,000 from the entrepreneur. For the money, he promised not to take the legal response measures and not to bring him to administrative responsibility for the detected violations of labor legislation. Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Zaporizhzhya oblast, investigators of the regional GUNP under the procedural leadership of the Voznesenivska District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Zaporizhzhia have exposed the official.
Both offenders were exposed by law enforcement officers today, May 5, after receiving the last agreed amounts of ill-gotten benefits.
Currently, the issue of notifying officials of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved. There is a pre-trial investigation.
