Over UAH 200 million in losses - in Kharkiv the National Police exposed the criminal group of raiders
The attackers “specialized” in seizing agricultural enterprises. They could face up to 10 years in prison.
Investigators of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Serious Crimes of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine together with the operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in the Kharkiv region of the National Police exposed a criminal group whose participants illegally seized agricultural enterprises and their equipment.
Police found that the criminal group included 11 people. During 2013-2018, the defendants, using forged documents, stolen seals and stamps, seized three agricultural enterprises and their equipment. To do this, the organizer of the group created its own enterprises in advance, on which the selected equipment was used.
The amount of damage caused by raider seizures of farms is more than UAH 200 million.
On May 27, in the city of Kharkiv and in the territory of Kharkiv region, the police conducted more than 20 simultaneous sanctioned searches of the places of residence of the defendants, in office premises and at agricultural enterprises.
As a result, more than 30 units of agricultural machinery were seized — tractors, planters, harrows.
Pre-trial investigation is carried out under Part 3 of Art. 206-2 (Illegal possession of property of an enterprise, institution, organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Police officers carry out further procedural measures aimed at documenting the criminal activities of the organizers of the criminal group and its members.
The defendants face imprisonment of up to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years and with confiscation of property.
Procedural leadership is carried out by prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General.
