More than UAH 1.3 million in damages to victims and 13 facts of illegal activity — five members of a criminal organization will be tried in Kyiv
Malefactors “knocked out” non-existent debts from citizens. At the same time, victims and their relatives were threatened, their property was damaged, inflicted bodily harm and kidnapped people. For their “services” attackers took 50% of the amount of “debt”. It is known that they demanded from 20 to 400 thousand US dollars.
“Customers” were searched for by the ads on the network. Their “services” were hidden under the guise of official agreements on legal services and representation of the interests of the persons who applied to them.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Kyiv with law enforcement colleagues exposed the criminal organization in November 2019. Then the investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police with the participation of the Metropolitan Police Regiment of Special Purpose under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office (currently the Office of the Prosecutor General) detained the defendants.
In total, law enforcement officers documented 13 facts of illegal activity of the participants of the criminal organization. By their actions, those involved caused more than UAH 1.3 million to the victims.
The pre-trial investigation is now complete. The indictments against the five intruders were directed to the Solomiansky District Court of the city. Kiev. They incriminate the commission of criminal offenses provided for by several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: part 1 of article 255 (creation of a criminal organization, leadership of such organization or its structural parts); part 4 of article 28 part 4 of article 189, part 2 of article 189 (solicitation that caused property damage on a particularly large scale, committed by an organized group, combined with causing grievous bodily harm); part 2 of article 146, part 4 of article 28 part 3 of article 146 (unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping of a person); part 3 of article 186 (robbery combined with penetration into a dwelling , other premises or storage, or that caused significant harm to the victim).
