The official claimed illegal benefits for not dismantling commercial objects and producing documents for their placement on the territory of the Suvorov district of the city. Odessa.
Today, July 6, operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Odessa region together with the investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Odessa District Police Department No. 1 detained the official immediately after receiving the second tranche - UAH 76 thousand.
Earlier, the police documented the receipt by the acting head of the municipal institution of the Odessa City Council of the first part of the illegal benefit — UAH 37,500. For the funds received, the defendant promised not to dismantle the two commercial objects and to further prepare the permitting documentation for their placement.
Currently, the man is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, funds received as a bribe have been withdrawn from the place of detention. The issue of notifying an official of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (extortion and receipt by an official of illegal benefits) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is resolved.
Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Suvorov District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Odessa. Under the current legislation, liability is provided for in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years, with confiscation of property.
