The police changed the legal qualification in criminal proceedings in the case of an accident in which three citizens died
The examination found that the driver of the MAN truck with the semitrailer was in a state of narcotic intoxication under the influence of cannabinoids and opiates. Information about the incident is included in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 4 of Art. 286-1 (violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles in a state of intoxication) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Recall that a large-scale accident involving five vehicles occurred on November 25 at about 17:30 in the area of the intersection of the ring road and the street Saltovskoe highway. The driver of the “MAN” with the semitrailer drove to the intersection at the prohibitive signal of the traffic light and provoked an accident.
As a result of the accident, three people died at the scene of the accident, including a three-year-old child. Four people were also injured.
The 41-year-old driver of the MAN truck was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The issue of notifying him of suspicion of committing a crime is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 7 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of seven to ten years.
