Police detained the deputy head of one of the Interregional Offices of Water Resources
The official established a criminal scheme to extort and obtain illegal benefits from entrepreneurs. For the money, he promised to provide for use the land plots of the water fund that are in permanent use of the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine.
The attacker was exposed by the operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Kiev region. Together with the investigators of the regional police department, they detained the deputy head of one of the Interregional Offices of the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine yesterday, July 12, in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigative and operational activities are currently underway. The issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion is being resolved. In addition, a full circle of persons is established, including among officials who may be involved in corruption activities.
Criminal proceedings are investigated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Solicitation and receipt by an official of illegal benefits). Procedural guidance in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
