Police detained an organized crime group that committed a robbery attack on a freight forwarder driver and took away more than 200 thousand hryvnias from him
At night, August 30, in the city. In the cellar, a group of unknown persons, using physical violence and a can of pepper gas, committed a robbery attack on a driver who delivered products to retail chains and conducted settlements with their representatives. After breaking the window, the attackers took money from the victim's vehicle and fled in a Citroen car. The perpetrators were carefully prepared for the crime and clearly distributed roles among themselves. Detainees are in a temporary detention facility. They face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The crime occurred around three o'clock in the morning on B Street. Khmelnitsky. During the unloading of the goods, the intruders sprayed pepper gas in the driver's face, took the money from the car and fled.
During operational and investigative measures, the police established that the attackers fled in a Citroen car, where another accomplice of the crime was waiting for them.
According to the head of the Criminal Investigation Department Andriy Damzin, the “Perekhvat” plan was introduced to detain the attackers and all necessary police forces were involved. Operatives detained two attackers immediately after committing the crime near Pogrebyshche. One of them is a 17-year-old. The other two members of the organized crime group were detained in the village. Stryzhavka and m. Vinnytsia.
It turned out that the crime was organized by a 28-year-old resident of Stryzhavka. The attackers studied the departure time of the forwarder driver, his route, places of payment for orders. The car in which the attackers were moving, the organizer of the crime took from an acquaintance. After committing the robbery, the attackers hid the money in a forest plantation.
The offenders are detained in procedural order on suspicion of committing an offense provided for in Part 3 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Two of them have already been declared under suspicion. For such a crime, up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property is provided.
One of the members of the criminal group has a criminal past and a conviction for drug crimes.
