Police of Vinnytsia Oblast Exposed Interregional Ethnic Crime Group of Methadone Traders
For almost a year, investigators of the regional head of police and employees of the Department for Combating Drug Crime carried out operational purchases and documented the criminal activities of the members of the organized group, who distributed methadone and potent drugs prohibited in free circulation in the territory of Vinnytsia and other regions through bookmarks.
On September 7, at the place of residence of the three defendants in the criminal proceedings, investigators with the force support of the special unit KORD conducted simultaneous searches, during which they seized the synthetic drug methadone, potent drugs and other items that indicate their criminal activity.
According to the acting head of the investigative department of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Alexander Bilyi, such a criminal activity was organized by a 32-year-old resident of the Kirovograd region. The woman packaged and distributed drugs through bookmarks in the territory of different regions of the country. Two accomplices, ages 36 and 37, helped her sell drugs. One of them is a resident of the Gaisyn district. According to available information, the attacker bought prohibited means through the Internet.
During searches of the residence of the suspects, investigators seized methadone, potent drugs, SIM cards, mobile phones, records with the data of regular buyers and bank cards, whose accounts received money received from the sale of drugs. The removed is sent for examination.
The issue of notifying attackers of suspicion and choosing a precautionary measure is currently being resolved.
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, investigators investigate criminal proceedings initiated under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). The defendants of the group face punishment - up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
