Police respond to every report of violations during elections - deputy head of the National Police
Law enforcers took almost 1,270 polling stations under their guard. Meanwhile, police are looking into more than 200 reports related to the election process. As part of these reports, the information is included in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations. Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Oleksandr Facevych announced this during the departmental video selection meeting today, October 31.
According to Oleksandr Fatsevich, the police took under guard all the precinct commissions formed in the state for today's elections. In particular, in Kherson and Cherkasy oblasts, mid-term elections of people's deputies of Ukraine are held in single-mandate constituencies No. 184 and 197. In addition, residents of Kharkiv elect the mayor, and residents of 21 regions of the state participate in midterm and re-elections of deputies of local councils, extraordinary elections of village, village and city heads.
“Today, 1211 district election commissions have been taken under guard. Two district election commissions and 56 territorial election commissions were also taken under guard,” the deputy head of the National Police said.
Oleksandr Fatsevich also stressed the importance of informing the Situation Center of the National Police about all the facts of non-opening of polling stations, as well as about the reasons for these facts.
“If the sites do not open on time, information from your situation centers goes to the Situation Center of the National Police: the reasons, your assessment of this situation and the response. I want to see the reaction to every message,” Oleksandr Fatsevich emphasized.
As of 08.15, two district commissions did not start work. In Lviv region, the head of the PEC was hospitalized, two members of the election commission fell ill in Kharkiv.
In total, 208 reports related to violations of electoral legislation were received to the territorial police units since the beginning of the election campaign: 58 in Kherson region, 59 in Cherkasy region, 41 in Kharkiv, 50 in other regions.
According to these reports, the police of the Kherson region entered into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations (ERDR) information on the opening of 8 criminal proceedings, 16 protocols on the commission of administrative offenses were drawn up. The police of the Cherkasy region submitted to the EHRD information about 7 criminal proceedings, the police compiled 10 protocols on administrative offenses. In Kharkiv, the police submitted information to the ERDR about 4 criminal proceedings the administrative protocol did not develop. Regarding the course of the electoral process in the territory of the rest of the regions where the elections are taking place today, the police entered into the EHRD information about the opening of 13 criminal proceedings and drew up 5 minutes.
