Ivano-Frankivsk police detained an attacker who shot on the street and wounded a man
On September 19, at about 5:15 a.m., the police received a report that an unknown man was randomly firing shots on one of the streets of Ivano-Frankivsk. Previously, law enforcement officers established that there was a conflict in the courtyard of one of the houses between the two men. At this moment, a 31-year-old native of Sumy region, who currently lives in Ivano-Frankivsk, took out a pistol and fired several times in the direction of another participant in the conflict. As a result, the victim received a gunshot wound to the chest.
To verify the information received, an investigative task force, operations officers, forensics and patrol officers immediately went to the place of the call. During the inspection of the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a gun and a number of physical evidence. All removed is sent for appropriate examination. The attacker was previously brought to criminal responsibility, he was promptly detained by patrol police officers near the crime scene.
Information about this event is included in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations for p. 1. Art. 121 and Part 4 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It is about causing grievous bodily harm and committing hooligan acts. The defendant was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators in agreement with the Ivano-Frankivsk district prosecutor's office informed the attacker about the suspicion. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him. For his actions, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
