The police of the Donetsk region in absentia announced the suspicion of two participants of the illegal paramilitary formation “MGB DNR”
The police departments of the migration police together with the detectives of the investigative department of the GUNP in Donetsk region and under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office documented the criminal activities of two participants of the terrorist organization “Ministry of State Immunity of the DPR”.
It was established that from 2015 and in 2017, two men 38 and 48 years old joined the terrorist formation, where they were appointed to the positions of the operational officers of the operational unit “MGB of the DPR”. One of them received the call sign “Dad”.
The militants were given the task of identifying pro-Ukrainian citizens among the population, in order to illegally detain them with the use of physical and psychological violence in order to obtain from them information necessary to ensure the activities of a terrorist organization.
Police documented the fact of torture of citizens during interrogations. Thus, torture was applied to four prisoners during the year. All prisoners were subjected to physical violence — they were beaten with their hands and feet on the body, including with a machine gun or a rubber stick. Among the victims is a woman who was abducted from her workplace in the middle of the day. She was put on a plastic bag over her head and metal shackles on her arms. After that, they were forcibly placed in the Izolyatsia prison, where they threatened to kill, beat and torture using electric current.
Both defendants were informed in absentia of suspicion of participation in a terrorist organization, illegal paramilitary formations, violation of the laws and customs of war, mistreatment of civilians committed according to a preliminary conspiracy by a group of persons, committed according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons (ch. 1 art. 258-3, part 1 of article 260, part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
