Donetsk police extradite criminal authority from Georgia
Being wanted for fraud on a particularly large scale, the man fled to Ukraine. On the territory of our state, he also lived contrary to the law, for which he was punished. Now the man will have to answer for crimes in his country. Employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Donetsk region police and Pokrovsk operatives under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office began the process of extraditing the criminal to Georgia.
More than ten years ago, a citizen of Georgia, born in 1978, committed fraudulent activities on the territory of his country on a particularly large scale. The man decided to hide from punishment for the crime on the territory of Ukraine. Meanwhile, in his homeland on November 29, 2011, he was sentenced in absentia - imprisonment for 10 years.
The foreigner continued his criminal activities in our country. However, this time he could not escape justice. For committing crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine, provided for in Part 4 of Art. 187 (Robbery) and Part 2 of Art. 115 (Premeditated murder for selfish motives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was jailed for 9 years on the territory of our state.
In Ukraine, the man had criminal authority among ethnic groups.
On April 1, his sentence expired. However, a man will not be able to go free and, probably, continue criminal activity.
Criminal investigation officers have established that the prisoner is wanted on the territory of Georgia. So, yesterday, April 1, after leaving the correctional colony according to the algorithm of procedural actions, he was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
An extradition arrest has now been applied to the accused to secure his transfer to the Georgian competent authorities for the execution of the court sentence.
At home, a man will have to answer for crimes.
