Police of Dnipropetrovsk region exposed a woman in the sale of certificates about the absence of coronavirus
For one thousand hryvnias, the customer received a certificate with a negative result without actually conducting the relevant research.
During March, the police received appeals from citizens that unknown people use the forms of famous medical laboratories and provide fake certificates. During the verification of the information received, law enforcement officers found out that a 41-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih was involved in the distribution of ready certificates.
As it turned out, the attacker posted notices around the city about the provision of certificates about the absence of a person with coronavirus disease, and then implemented them. At the same time, the relevant medical examination was not carried out for the customers. In this way, it was possible to obtain certificates for the departure of citizens abroad, as well as certificates that could be used at the place of claim.
On March 29, police departments of Police No. 2 (Metallurgical) KRUP under the procedural guidance of the Kryvyi Rih Southern Prosecutor's Office No. 1 conducted a court-sanctioned search at the place of residence of the defendant in the case.
During the investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized from the apartment building three certificates of passing tests with prints of laboratory seals, more than 50 thousand hryvnias, “rough” records, mobile phones and a bank card.
On this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under the preliminary legal qualification provided for in Part 2 of Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to three years.
Within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers appointed a number of examinations, measures are taken aimed at establishing the involvement of other persons in criminal activity. The issue of handing a woman a report of suspicion is also being resolved.
