Transcarpathian police detained the organizer of the scheme of illegal migration to the countries of the European Union
Police officers of Transcarpathia detained a 36-year-old resident of Perechin, who is suspected of falsifying documents and illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine. In the residence of the detainee and his possible accomplices, law enforcement officers conducted searches. The pre-trial investigation into the case is ongoing.
Employees of the Transcarpathian Migration Police Department as a result of long operational work stopped the illegal activities of a group of intruders who are involved in the illegal transportation of foreign citizens across the state border of Ukraine.
The special operation was carried out with the strong support of the soldiers of the special purpose police company and the KORD on Universitets'ka Street in the regional center. At the scene, law enforcement officers detained the 36-year-old organizer of the illegal migration scheme. The defendant received a fee of 5800 US dollars from foreign clients. For this amount, the attacker produced internal documents of the European Union countries for customers and was supposed to help in crossing the border bypassing official checkpoints.
To produce fake documents, the man, together with his accomplices, used a laser engraving device and cost such illegal “services” 1800 euros per client.
This weekend, the investigators of the Uzhgorod district police department together with the operatives conducted court-sanctioned searches at the home of the organizer and his possible assistants. As a result, a number of electronic media, laptops, passports of dubious origin and a car were seized. All material evidence was sent for examination.
The 36-year-old resident of Perechin was detained by the police in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and now he is in a temporary detention facility. The investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Uzhgorod District Prosecutor's Office, have already informed him of the suspicion of committing the crimes stipulated in Part 3 of Article 358 and Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. We are talking about forgery of documents committed by a group of persons and illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine.
Police officers will apply to the court with a request to choose a preventive measure for the detainee in the form of detention. The pre-trial investigation into the case is ongoing.
