Transcarpathian police discovered a robbery attack on an enterprise in Mukachev
Transcarpathian police officers conducted a complex of operational-search measures and detained one of the suspects in a robbery attack on an enterprise in Mukacheve. The police have already seized part of the stolen cash and will later return it to the victim. The actions of offenders are qualified under Part 4 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
On April 9, around 7:40am, Mukachevo police received a report of a robbery attack on a local enterprise. According to the applicant, the crime occurred the day before, about 23 hours. Since the victims did not contact the police until the next day, the perpetrators had the opportunity to hide the traces of the crime.
However, criminal investigation officers of the regional department together with colleagues from the Mukachevo Police Department, despite the lost time, in a matter of hours established all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved.
It turned out that on April 8, at about 23:00 hours, two men penetrated the guarded territory - a parking lot for large vehicles, located along Prešivska Street in Mukachev.
The attackers first beat the 40-year-old security guard, then tied him up with tape and a belt, sealed his mouth and, having damaged the padlock, penetrated the wholesale warehouse, where 300 thousand hryvnias were stolen from the desk drawer.
The police carried out operational measures and detained one of the attackers, who, along with the stolen money, was hiding in the hotel room of one of the recreation establishments of Mukachevo district. The attacker, a 27-year-old former convicted mukachev, turned out to be the relative of the victim.
Police investigators under the procedural leadership of the Mukachevo District Prosecutor's Office have already informed him of the suspicion of committing the crime provided for in Part 4 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He is currently in a temporary detention facility. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
Now the police are taking measures aimed at finding and arresting another robber.
The pre-trial investigation into the case is ongoing.
