Police officers of Khmelnytskyi region exposed the corruption scheme of commissioning of construction objects
It consisted of two private entrepreneurs, officials of the architectural service and state registrars. The amounts of ill-gotten gains for “resolving” the issues ranged from $3,000 to $5,000.
The operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in Khmelnytsky region, together with the investigators of the regional police, exposed the illegal activity. An illegal scheme was organized by a local businessman. He attracted another entrepreneur and state registrars of one of the amalgamated territorial communities into the accomplices. Roles were clearly distributed among all participants.
For a certain reward, the intruders helped to “solve the issue” of commissioning construction objects and their subsequent registration of ownership by influencing officials of the department in the field of architecture. The cost of such “services” ranged from 3000 to 5000 US dollars.
Yesterday, January 13, the police detained the organizer of the scheme and his accomplice while receiving another “tranche” in the amount of 1000 US dollars. Previously, in November and December 2021, two facts of obtaining an improper benefit were documented - 3500 and 400 US dollars.
The total amount that the defendants received as ill-gotten gains is $4,900.
Immediately after the arrest of the organizer in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, law enforcement officers conducted a number of sanctioned searches. He has already been informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 (abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 3 to 8 years with confiscation of property. The procedural guidance in the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor's Office.
