Police seized “goods” worth one and a half million hryvnias from two capital drug dealers
Dealers distributed prohibited substances among the drug-addicted residents of Kiev, advertising them in their online store. Among the offered are cocaine, methadone, LSD, ecstasy. For such a “business”, the defendants face up to 12 years behind bars with confiscation of property.
It was established that a 41-year-old resident of the capital organized the sale of heavy drugs and psychotropics. To implement his ideas, he created a drug store on the platform of one of the Internet messengers. Among the range offered by the dealer are cocaine, methadone, ecstasy and LSD. The goods were sold directly during personal meetings or through “bookmarks”.
To expand his “business”, he attracted a 31-year-old Kiev resident to illegal activities, to whom he supplied wholesale batches of “goods”. Received from such activities more than 100 thousand hryvnias of profit every month.
Having received confirmation of illegal activities of the offenders, the investigators of the Main Investigation Department together with the operatives of the Department for the Fight against Drug Crime in the Kiev region, as well as with the police services of the Kiev region, for the forcible beating of special purpose police fighters, conducted a series of searches at the place of residence of the defendants. As a result of the investigation, 250 g of cocaine, 150 g of methadone, more than 250 ecstasy pills, LSD brands, cannabis, as well as funds in foreign currency and materials for packaging were seized.
The cost of the “black” market withdrawn at prices is about one and a half million hryvnias.
The activity of the online store is blocked. Everything removed is directed to carry out expert research.
Investigators informed the 41-year-old defendant about the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this is the illegal sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a particularly large scale. The court has already chosen a preventive measure for him in the form of non-alternative detention. The procedural decision regarding his accomplice will be made after the results of the investigation are received.
For what has been committed, the defendants face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
