Police officers exposed groups for manufacturing and selling drugs and psychotropics in Chernihiv and Kyiv region
The police detained the organizer and members of the drug group, who set up a laboratory for the production of narcotic substances in Chernihiv and set up five online stores for their sale.
Operatives of the Department for Combating Drug Crimes in Chernihiv Oblast together with colleagues from the Investigative Department of the Chernihiv Police documented the criminal activities of a group of persons who manufactured narcotic substances. The investigation continues under the procedural direction of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The police established that the drug business was organized by a 28-year-old resident of Chernihiv. He included his civilian wife and six others as accomplices. Each of them had its own function — control and organization of production, acceptance of orders and sale of prohibited substances in specific settlements in the territories of Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
The attackers personally “cooked” amphetamine and synthetic drugs in the apartment of one of them and in abandoned buildings outside the city. To market the “product” through “bookmarks”, the attackers created five online stores. Their stores simultaneously “worked” on the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Money from buyers went to the wallets of the electronic payment system, which the drug traffickers then withdrew through bank cards.
The police found that some of the drugs and psychotropic drugs were purchased by members of the drug group in bulk via the Internet. According to preliminary data, the turnover from sales of prohibited substances amounted to more than 10 thousand hryvnias per day.
On April 29, law enforcement officers with the strong support of a special purpose police company detained the organizer and participants of the drug group.
During the sanctioned searches, more than 3 kilograms of marijuana, amphetamines, “salts” and “ecstasy”, 11 liters of precursors, utensils and equipment for the production and packaging of drugs, “rough” records, bank cards were seized from the attackers. Law enforcement officers also seized the car that the attackers used in their activities.
The police detained the organizer of the criminal group and three other members of the criminal group in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigative actions are ongoing with other persons involved in the manufacture and sale of drugs.
Offenders are incriminated for committing an offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of four to eight years.
