The police reported the suspicion of the exhibitor of the Uzhgorod City Council
The official's negligence resulted in more than one million hryvnias in losses.
The operatives of the strategic investigations department in the Transcarpathian region and the investigators of the investigative department of the regional police received evidence of the involvement of the former head of one of the departments of the city council. This evidence was the basis for a report on September 17 to the exhibitor about suspicion of official negligence — Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The suspect did not check, in accordance with the procedure established by law, the reliability and possibility of including land plots in the list of municipal property objects of the city, subject to sale at auction through their redemption and free from development. In fact, there is a decorative splash pool on them, which is an integral part of the complex of the Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater.
Despite the prohibition of auctions of land used by enterprises in the field of culture and art, they were alienated and transferred to two citizens on the basis of purchase and sale agreements. Thus, by the actions of the former head of the department of the Uzhgorod City Council, the state caused losses in the amount of more than UAH 1.1 million.
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings continues. Procedural management is carried out by the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office.
