Police suspected the organizer and members of the group for fraud under the guise of employment abroad
The attackers seized the funds of about 200 people. The amount of damage caused to the victims is almost 2.5 million hryvnias.
The organized group, which operated for four years, consisted of five people — the organizer, the co-organizer and three “managers”.
In criminal activity, attackers used two “schemes”. In the first case, enterprises were created, which registered as counterparties, and received the appropriate license to carry out intermediary activities for employment abroad. In the second, the details of companies that had the corresponding license were used.
Therefore, the victims had no doubts about the legality of employment services.
According to forged documents, the attackers drew up contracts on the basis of which they received money from the victims.
Advertisements about vacancies at enterprises of the European Union countries were posted by attackers on the site they created, as well as on special Internet resources.
The victims of the attackers were 200 citizens. The amount of damage caused to the victims is 2.5 million hryvnias.
The operatives of the Migration Police Department together with the investigators of the Kiev police exposed the criminal activity of the group. Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was carried out under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
Law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches of the places of residence of the defendants and seized documentation confirming their criminal activities.
All members of the criminal group were notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Violators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
Currently, the issue of choosing preventive measures is being decided.
