Police of Kyiv region exposed a group of car thieves
The attackers pretended to be wealthy investors, came to businessmen or developers and, according to a coordinated scheme, stole cash from citizens' cars.
So, the villains on the Range Rover car came to the village of Khalepya to a farmer who was carrying out repair work on the territory of the farm. While one of the attackers talked to the entrepreneur and offered profitable investments, the other two stole the money. The thieves parked the car next to the owner's car in such a way that it was convenient and imperceptible to steal the cash.
So, the attackers stole 250 thousand hryvnias and 7 thousand dollars from the farmer.
Law enforcers found that in order to commit thefts, men came to the victims in different cars and resorted to conspiracy, so that they were immediately difficult to calculate.
The police carried out a number of operational and search activities and, even despite the fact that the car of the attackers was on other license plates, calculated its location and established the identity of the intruders. They turned out to be a 41-year-old Kyiv resident and a 56-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih.
The men were detained under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
At the places of residence of the defendants, the police conducted authorized searches and seized a number of physical evidence confirming the involvement of the men in the theft.
Currently, law enforcement officers are checking the involvement of men in committing similar crimes on the territory of Kyiv region and are taking measures to search for the third defendant. According to the facts of thefts, criminal proceedings were opened for h. 3. Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
At the moment, the investigators of the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office have already reported a suspicion of one of the villains. The court chose a precautionary measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest. The issue of reporting suspicion to the second defendant is being resolved.
