Cherkasy police declared a suspicion of a woman who left a child in danger, a boy in serious condition in hospital
The suspect faces up to eight years in prison. Now investigators are investigating criminal proceedings. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for a woman is being resolved.
Recall: On August 24, the Cherkasy district police department received information from doctors that a boy, born in 2014, was delivered to the intensive care unit of the Cherkasy Regional Children's Hospital. The child was hospitalized with bodily injuries.
When examining the child, experts found a bruised head wound, probably from a fall. In addition, scratches on the limbs of the arms and legs and other bodily injuries were detected, the mechanism and localization of which will be determined after the forensic examination and the submission of a conclusion to the investigation.
During the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers found that the woman, observing the poor state of health of the boy, did not seek professional help to health institutions and independently provided home medical care to her grandson.
In this way, the woman left in a life-threatening condition and without help the injured boy who needed her and for objective reasons was deprived of the opportunity to take measures for self-preservation.
Investigators of the Cherkasy District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy District Prosecutor's Office, informed the woman about the suspicion of leaving a minor child in danger, which caused serious consequences under part 3 of Article 135 (Leaving in danger) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
At the moment, the question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
