The units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will carry out a complex of security measures during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah in Uman — Denis Monastyrsky
Today, August 27, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.
Denis Monastyrsky congratulated the Ambassador of the State of Israel on the beginning of his term in Ukraine. The Minister expressed hope for further cooperation on strengthening and developing bilateral relations, in particular, in the cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The parties discussed the organization of pilgrimage of Bratslav Hasids to the city of Uman, Cherkasy region, during the celebration of September 6-8 of the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah. Denis Monastyrsky stressed that during border control a complex of security measures will be carried out.
Michael Brodsky said that this year about 50,000 Israelis and citizens of other foreign countries are expected to arrive in Ukraine. Israeli citizens are given a clear instruction - to be tested for COVID-19 at the airport of departure and after their return, as well as strictly observe the sanitary rules established by Ukrainian legislation.
The Minister of Internal Affairs positively noted the practice of involving Israeli police officers in joint efforts with Ukrainian law enforcement to ensure public order in Uman. He noted that a police situation center has been deployed in the city and effective exchange of operational information between the Ukrainian and Israeli sides has been established.
The participants of the meeting discussed the expansion of the contractual and legal framework of bilateral relations, namely - the draft Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses, the Agreement between the National Police of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Security of the State of Israel on cooperation in the field of crime prevention and fight Memorandum of Cooperation between Rescue and Fire Services of States. The Parties identified joint steps to ensure the implementation of the Agreement on visa-free travel of citizens in force between Ukraine and Israel.
