The units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will switch to enhanced duty on the eve of the Independence Day of Ukraine - Denis Monastyrsky
During the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence Day of Ukraine, the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will work in an enhanced mode to provide a comfortable safe environment for citizens, state leadership and guests. An Interdepartmental Situation Center will operate on the basis of the National Police, which will provide 24/7 coordination of the work of the State Border Service, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the State Migration Service and the National Guard.
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during the All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine 30".
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs has established cooperation with other law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the country. Our main goal is to mobilize all capacities for prompt response!”, - he said.
Denis Monastyrsky noted that from August 16, more than 2,000 police uniforms will be on duty on the streets of settlements and highways of the state.
In the city of Kiev alone, about 10 thousand policemen and national guards will be involved in the maintenance of law and order.
From August 21, all forces and means of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be transferred to an enhanced mode of operation.
“In order to neutralize possible risks and threats during the celebration of the anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, rapid response units, explosives technicians, dog scientists, additional operational and investigative teams will be involved. In order to prevent the destabilization of operational circumstances, we carry out comprehensive operational-preventive studies and take additional measures aimed at neutralizing threats at the state border, preventing illegal circulation of weapons, ammunition and explosives,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.
It is worth noting that aviation reserves and water police forces will be involved for the mobility of forces and means of response of law enforcement officers.
Fire and rescue and special equipment will be placed near the celebration locations and the outfits of rescuers will alternate.
According to Denis Monastyrsky, cyber police units are on 24-hour alert to ensure operational overlap of the Ukrainian segment of cyberspace and respond to cyberattacks in a timely manner.
“Together with other law enforcement agencies and state authorities and local governments, we are ready to ensure proper response to any external and internal challenges and threats during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. Independence Day will be safe! The Ministry of Internal Affairs is the Ministry of Security!”, - summed up the head of the law enforcement agency.
Earlier, Denis Monastyrsky said that two thousand officers will undergo special training and serve in the united territorial communities throughout Ukraine.
