A resident of Dnipropetrovsk region suspected of selling drugs was detained for transferring a bribe to a law enforcement officer
A man accused by police officers of distributing drugs offered a police officer a monetary “reward” for the possibility of avoiding a precautionary measure in the form of detention. The policeman reported the attempted bribery to the internal security of the National Police.
A 36-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region was exposed by law enforcement officers in the sale of drugs and declared him a suspect. During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect turned to the deputy chief of the investigative department of the police of the city of Verkhnodniprovsk and promised to give him a bribe, $1,000, so that he would not change the precautionary measure: house arrest for detention.
On the corruption proposal, the police official reported to the management and reported to the Dnipropetrovsk department of the Department of Internal Security of the NPU. In the official office, the policeman was detained immediately after providing him with an illegal benefit and handed him a suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369 (Offer, promise or provision of illegal benefits to an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 4 to 8 years. In the order of Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the defendant was detained.
